Do your caregivers receive IDD-specific training?

 Yes. Every caregiver completes IDD-specific training and a background check before providing care, and we provide ongoing education to keep our team current on best practices.

Each individual receives a personalized safety plan based on their specific needs, and our team maintains ongoing coordination with families and other providers to address any changes in health, behavior, or living situation.

We currently serve Harris County and the surrounding areas, including Brazoria, Fort Bend, and Montgomery counties.

Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) is a Texas Medicaid waiver program that provides services and supports to Texans with an intellectual disability or a related condition so they can live in the community instead of an institutional setting. Alif Home Care Group provides services to individuals enrolled in, or applying to, this program.

 HCS may be available to Texas residents not living in an institutional setting who have an IQ of 69 or below (or an approved related condition with an IQ of 75 or below), have mild to severe deficits in adaptive behavior, are eligible for Medicaid, and are not currently enrolled in another Medicaid waiver program. Your local LIDDA (Local Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority) can help confirm eligibility and get you on the interest list.

Yes. Interested individuals are placed on an interest list through their local LIDDA. An offer of HCS services depends on individual need, date of placement on the list, and funding availability. Our team can help guide you through this process.

 Yes. Individuals enrolled in HCS can choose their provider from an approved list and may change providers at any time, even when moving to a different area of Texas.
